The Philadelphia 76ers head West to take on the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Arena on Tuesday night.
These are two teams who are playing well right now with the Sixers winning eight out of their last 10 games and the Kings winning seven out of their last eight outings. Philadelphia is coming off a win over Brooklyn after losing to Portland. Meanwhile, the Kings have won four in a row and head home after beating the L.A. Clippers at Staples Center. The last time these teams played each other was on March 5, 2020, with the Sixers winning 125-108 at this same venue.
The Sixers are 17-7 on the season and they have the best record in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia heads to Sacramento having won eight out of their last 10 games played. In their last game played, the Sixers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 124-108.
Joel Embiid scored 33 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the Sixers against the Nets. Ben Simmons had an all-around effort with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, and three steals while Tobias Harris added 21 points and 12 boards. Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz combined for 28 points off the bench.
The Sixers are 10th in the league in scoring at 114.1 points per game scored this season. Philadelphia is 7th off the boards with 45.5 rebounds per contest and they are just 22nd in passing at 23.5 assists per game. The Sixers have the 10th best scoring defense in the league at 110.1 points per game allowed.
The Sacramento Kings have climbed back to over the .500 mark. At 12-11 on the year, Sacramento is just fourth in the loaded Pacific Division. However, their current four-game winning streak has moved them to 7th place in the Western Conference team standings.
In their last game, Sacramento defeated the L.A. Clippers 113-110 behind 36 points from De’Aaron Fox. Buddy Hield added 22 points for the Kings who are 7-1 since losing to the Clippers last January 20. Rookie Tyrese Haliburton scored 13 points off the bench while Richaun Holmes had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
Sacramento is the 11th best scoring team in the NBA at 113.7 points per game. They are ranked 20th in rebounding at 43.9 boards grabbed per contest and are 11th in passing at 25.7 dimes per contest. The Kings have the league’s third-worst scoring defense at 118.2 points per game allowed.
Philadelphia is 5-1 SU in their last six games played. The Sixers are 4-1 SU in their last five games played on the road, and 2-4 SU in their last six games against the Pacific Division. Sacramento is 7-1 SU in their last eight games played. The Kings are 3-1 SU in their last four games played at home, 5-1 SU in their last six games played against the Eastern Conference, and 3-8 SU in their last 11 games played against the Atlantic Division. Head to head, the Sixers have won each of the last three meetings between these two teams.
Joel Embiid is on a roll right now. He has scored at least 30 points in each of the Sixers’ last three games and is coming off a 33 point effort against Brooklyn. Philly is 4-1 in their last five road games and has won their last three away from home. Tobias Harris scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the last head to head meetings between these two teams.
De’Aaron Fox has scored 30 or more points in three of his last five outings, including 36 in their big win over the Clippers last Sunday. The Kings head to his game having won their last four games and are 7-1 in their last eight outings. Tyrese Haliburton continues to shine for the Kings while Richaun Holmes has posted a double-double in his last two games.
This will be a good test for the Kings. Philadelphia is the no. 1 team in the Eastern Conference and is led by one of the league’s top big men in Embiid.
Doc Rivers is doing a good job so far with the Sixers and while Sacramento is on a roll, it’s Philly who’s playing more consistent basketball since the start of the campaign. Give me the Sixers here.
Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games played. Philadelphia is 2-2-1 ATS in their last five games played on the road. The Kings are 8-0 ATS in their last eight games played, 3-1 ATS in their last four games played at home. Head to head, the Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last six games played against the Sixers. Philadelphia is 10-2 ATS in their last dozen games played in Sacramento.
The Kings have covered well against the Sixers and they have covered the spread in their last eight games. Sacramento has also won four straight games with a winning margin of five or more points. However, the Sixers have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season. Philly has also won five of six heading to this contest. In their last 10 games, they have two wins over the Celtics, one over the Lakers, and their most recent win was against Brooklyn. I like how the Sixers are playing this season.
Prediction: Sixers +4.5
The total has gone over in 12 out of the last 17 games played by the 76ers. The over is also 4-1 in their last five games played on the road, and 9-4 in their last 13 games against the Western Conference. The total has gone over in 13 out of the last 20 games played by the Kings. The over is 6-1 in Sacramento’s last seven games played at home. The over is 2-1 in the last three meetings between these two teams.
These teams are among the Top 11 in the league when it comes to scoring. Defensively, the Kings have the third-worst scoring defense in the NBA at 118.2 points per game allowed. Sacramento is averaging 116+ points per game during their current four-game winning streak. The Sixers meanwhile have scored 118 or more in three out of their last four assignments. These teams have gone over the 230 total in two out of their last three games played. I like these teams to hit the over.
