Super Bowl 53 Trump Bets

President Trump may be a polarizing figure in the United States and beyond, but he is set to provide fans and detractors with another conundrum when it comes to Super Bowl LIII prop bets. There are a number of solid options available to be on that involve the leader of the free world, with markets relating to everything from his congratulatory tweets to predicting the winner of the big game.

One of the more widespread prop bet options involving the President of the United States is if the winning team will attend the Rose Garden ceremony that has been a tradition since the 1980s. President Trump’s arrival in the White House in 2017 has not been easy, and a number of champions have either declined – or have had their invitations torn up – by the outspoken president.

None of last year’s Super Bowl-winning Eagles team made the trip last year amid controversy involving the national anthem and President Trump’s outspoken views on players bringing political and social issues into the sport. Given the president’s perspective on these issues, he has become a seriously divisive figure among many NFL players, and this could have a bearing on who will show up at the White House following the conclusion of the game.

Can you bet on this? You bet you can. In fact, there is plenty more where this comes from, as prop bets involving the president are everywhere. With some great value potentially on offer, I decided to take a look at some of the best prop bets out there involving President Trump.

President Trump Super Bowl 53 Prop Bets

There are some interesting nuggets of information involving Super Bowl champions and the White House over the years. For example, there have only been four occasions (not involving President Trump) of the winners not attending a ceremony with the president since 1987.

The beginning of the Gulf War in 1991 was the reason for the Giants not visiting President George H.W. Bush’s White House. In 1999, Bill Clinton’s impeachment stood in the way of the Broncos visiting President Bill Clinton. The Rams’ invitation was pulled at the last minute in 2000 due to political tension in the Middle East. Finally, the 2003 Buccaneers’ win was enough to earn them an invitation from President George W. Bush, but due to the breakout of the Iraq war, this was unfortunately not to be.

Of course, individual players have also declined to attend the Rose Garden ceremony over the years – for personal reasons – and this has led to bookmakers creating odds on such a scenario happening this year. Aside from what happens after the big game, Trump also features heavily in prop bets that are focused on what happens before and during Super Bowl 53. Let’s take a look at some of the best prop bets for Donald Trump.

Odds courtesy of MyBookie.ag are correct as of January 30, 2019.

Will Donald Trump Attend the Game?

  • Yes +800
  • No -1500

Some may cite Trump’s unpopularity among many NFL fans and players as the reason why he would not attend the game, but in reality, it is a lot more practical. The cost and logistics of arranging for the president to attend the Super Bowl are simply off the charts, given the security required to keep him safe. There is simply no way that the secret service would be able to put this together – and if they had already been planning for his attendance at the game – this surely would have already leaked out.

I don’t believe President Trump will show up at the game. It has nothing to do with popularity or how he will be received. It’s just, that, he is the POTUS and it won’t happen.

No sitting President has ever attended a Super Bowl. While President Trump can be stubborn – and likes to do things his own way – I doubt that he will be the first to buck the trend.

Total Times Donald Trump Tweets During the Game?

  • Over 6 (-115)
  • Under 6 (-115)

When we look at last year’s final, we can see that the president only tweeted once throughout the whole day. Even though he has a fondness for taking to Twitter, it is unlikely that we will see a running commentary of the big game from the hands of the leader of the free world.

While it might be tempting to believe that the POTUS will pepper Twitter with a barrage of tweets during the game, more than likely he will be sitting back with a bag of chips and a cold beer, watching the Pats and the Rams go at it. Just like the rest of us. I mean, that is the best way to look at the situation and one that seems likely. Well, kind of.

Unless something unusual happens during the game that provokes the president into lashing out, I can’t see there being more than a couple of Tweets – at very best – throughout the game. Go under 6 on this one.

Will Donald Trump Take Part in Pre-Game Interview on CBS?

  • Yes -200
  • No +150

This is certainly an intriguing bet.

President Trump is not the most popular man to have ever sat in the White House but he is one that has not been afraid to do things his own way. With the President set to engage in the CBS “Face the Nation” with Margaret Brennan this coming Friday, it appears likely that there will be something to suggest that Trump will engage in The Super Bowl Sunday interview.

This interview has been “a thing” since George W. Bush was in office and Barack Obama maintained what has now become a tradition every year since taking office. President Trump engaged in the interview in his inaugural year as president, so there is a lot to suggest that he will take part in this year’s pre-game interview, too.

Will President Trump Congratulate the Winning Team via Twitter by Midnight on 2/3/19?

  • Yes -150
  • No +120

I think this one depends on who wins the game.

In 2017, more than half of the Super Bowl-winning Pats team showed up at the White House, with some notable absentees, nonetheless. You could argue that the New York-born Trump would have more of an affinity to fellow East Coasters, New England, although this is clutching at straws a little.

I believe Trump has a little more affection for the Pats. Right after the AFC game, he tweeted his congratulations to ‘Bob Kraft, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the entire New England Patriots team,’ praising them for a ‘great game and season,’ before claiming that this Sunday’s game ‘will be a fantastic Super Bowl!’

Not all teams get that kind of praise from the POTUS. I believe that, if New England wins the Super Bowl, Trump will congratulate the team prior to midnight. If the Rams win, it could be a completely different story, however. Approaching this from a logical point of view, I would bet “Yes” at -150 if I believe the Pats will win and “No” at +120 if the Rams win.

Which Will Be Higher?

  • Trump approval rating on 2/4/19 (according to Rasmussen Reports) +110
  • Yardage of longest made field goal -140

Yet again, another really interesting bet to have the opportunity to place. According to The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, the recent government shutdown kicked the wind out of Trump’s poor approval rating. In essence, 34% of Americans are happy with the president’s efforts, which is not great, really, is it?

Now, if Greg Zuerlein or Stephen Gostkowski can hit a 40-yard field goal in Super Bowl 53, this should be more than enough to see those odds of -140 look valuable against Trump’s odds of +110.

Will the Super Bowl LIII Winning Team Visit the White House?

  • Yes -200
  • No +150

I think is perhaps the easiest to predict out of all the President Trump prop bets. In my opinion, there is no doubt that the Patriots will show up to meet the president, but the same cannot be said about the Rams. Given that I believe the Patriots will win on Sunday, this means that I would undoubtedly back “Yes” at -200 on this market. It makes sense, right?

We all remember when Golden State Warriors had their invitation withdrawn by the president last year, following Steph Curry’s hesitance at accepting it. If the Rams do win, there is a chance that they may follow suit in rejecting an appearance at the White House. Given the political leanings of most in California, it would be little surprise to see this happen. So, if the Rams do win – or should I say, if you think the Rams will win – it might be an idea to go for “No” at +150.

The odds here, in a strange way, reflect the favorites for the game (New England) as they would also be the favorites to attend a ceremony with President Trump. By thinking this way, you should arrive at the best answer to this question.

Other Super Bowl 53 Trump Bets?

There are loads of really interesting President Trump prop bets doing the rounds right now.

This one from the guys over at Sportsbetting.ag really caught the eye:

What Will be Higher SB Sunday?

  • Tom Brady TD Passes +200
  • Donald Trump Tweets -300

At first glance, you would have to jump on President Trump’s tweets eclipsing Tom Brady for touchdown passes, but when you think about it, is it that clear?

Tom Brady is the record holder for Super Bowl touchdown passes at 18, which he accrued in eight Super Bowl appearances. This means that, on average, he has thrown 2.25 touchdown passes per game. As it stands, Brady is 41-years-old and approaching the end of his career. Is it possible that he could throw 2 passes against the Rams on Sunday? Maybe. Is it possible that President Trump can refrain from tweeting more than once all day? Unlikely.

Trump will undoubtedly address the nation via Twitter on Sunday morning, given that it is Super Bowl Sunday. Then, if the Pats win, he will more than likely tweet congratulations. That is two tweets already.

In my opinion, Donald Trump will tweet at least twice on Sunday. I cannot see Tom Brady throwing more than two TD passes, even though it would be incredible if he did. I say that as a purely unbiased and objective Patriots fan…

Why Bet on Super Bowl 53 Trump Bets?

If someone told you ten years ago that you would be looking at placing Super Bowl prop bets on the Super Bowl – and that Tom Brady would still be playing for the Patriots in 2019 – you probably would have laughed yourself into a frenzy. If that same person told you the president would be Donald Trump, well, you probably would have questioned their sanity.

President Trump may not be to everyone’s liking, but he is always newsworthy. Regardless of your personal opinion of the 45th President of the United States, when it comes to betting, there are some awesome prop bets you can place in addition to your wagers on the game. If anything, it adds a little spice to proceedings and can even hold your attention hours after the game has ended, with some of those bets only being settled after midnight.

Super Bowl LIII is set to be one of the most exciting games in recent memory. If it lives up to the hype, we are set to witness a true battle and clash of styles. The narrative of the old guard vs. the new guard makes it something to savor, and there are some seriously talented players on the field that can make anything happen. However, sometimes a great game on paper doesn’t turn out that way. In cases like this, having an interest in a few prop bets can really lighten the mood.
