WWE Money in the Bank 2020 Betting Odds and Match Predictions

The WWE has been forced to think out of the box during the COVID-10 pandemic to keep the action going for their fans.

For the past weeks, Vince McMahon has allowed their rosters to perform in the ring withing the WWE Performance Center with only a referee, cameraman, and ringside commentators inside the venue. The WWE also held Wrestlemania 36 at the events center and without a live audience for the first time. But as they say, the show must go on.

The WWE’s next PPV event is the Money In The Bank 2020 which will go down on Sunday, May 10, 2020 not at the Performance Center but the WWE Corporate Towers or the Titan Towers in Stamford, Connecticut. The men’s and women’s Money in the Bank matches will begin at the ground floor and the briefcases will be up for grabs at the rooftop.

Aside from the staple MITB matches, there will be three titles on the line during the event. Let’s take a look at each one of them and predict who will walk away with the belts:

Bayley (c) vs Tamina, WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

Aside from her best friend Sasha Banks, Tamina is the only other wrestler in SmackDown that Bayley hasn’t beaten yet. Banks should’ve qualified for the MITB Ladder Match to earn the chance to cash in the briefcase of Bayley but it appears that there are other plans for the Bayley-Sasha Banks rivalry on the way to Summer Slam. Instead, it will be Lacey Evans who will challenge for the briefcase on May 10th.

  • Moneyline Odds: Bayley -400, Tamina +250
  • Odds from BetOnline as of 04/26/20

Banks has continued to lose since her four-month absence and her losses have made us wonder if she deserves a title shot against Bayley but if leaving her out of the MITB Ladder Match is the WWE’s way of building her up for a championship opportunity, then it is a shocking one.

Meanwhile, I don’t think that Tamina has a chance of beating Bayley. The champion’s previous challengers have been uninspiring and there is no one in the roster that is poised to dethrone her, except for Sasha Banks. Tamina is one of the worst wrestlers in the brand and she is getting a title shot here? I think this one’s the easiest pick to make.

Prediction: Bayley

Braun Strowman (c) vs Bray Wyatt, WWE Universal Championship

It has been a wild turn events for the WWE Universal belt. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins to win the title. He held on to it for months before he shockingly lost to Goldberg at the ShowDown 2020. Then in Wrestlemania, the anticipated match between Goldberg and Roman Reigns didn’t happen because Reigns withdrew due to COVID-19 concerns. Braun Strowman took Reigns’ spot and he defeated Goldberg. Now two members of the Wyatt Family are fighting for the title here.

  • Moneyline Odds: Strowman -120, Wyatt -120
  • Odds from BetOnline as of 04/26/20

This makes an interesting storyline because both wrestlers wreaked havoc across the WWE during their cult stablemate days. But because Bray Wyatt won’t be The Fiend in this match, I expect Braun Strowman to get his licks here and there. I think Strowman wins so that there will be a post-match attack from The Fiend, which in turn will book a championship in the next PPV event.

Once The Fiend challenges the Beast among Men, he will get his title back. I mean he shouldn’t have lost that belt in the first place. It’s unusual to think that Bray loses here after his career-defining win over John Cena at Wrestlemania 36 but I think this is what’s good for both. Strowman wins this match but the Fiend will regain his belt soon.

Prediction: Braun Strowman

Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins, WWE Championship

The battle of the Beast Slayers is set to be a show-stealing match. Drew McIntyre is seeking to validate his victory over Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 36 with definitive win over another Lesnar conqueror in Rollins. But while both men defeated the Beast at Wrestlemania, there are differences between them.

  • Moneyline Odds: McIntyre -500, Rollins +300
  • Odds from BetOnline as of 04/26/20

McIntyre’s recent win over Lesnar in an empty venue has more value than Rollins’ win over the Beast before a jam-packed Wrestlemania 35 audience. Unlike Rollins, McIntyre’s win was his first championship after going 10 years chasing title belts. McIntyre also didn’t have the support system that Rollins had. While Rollins had The Shield and The Authority behind him, Mcintyre merely had 3MB as his support system.

Seth Rollins also lost to Kevin Owens in the best match of the WWE’s two-day extravaganza. You’d think that after such big win, he’d be next in line to challenge the new WWE champion. But no, the loser of that match gets the shot here which is puzzling. However, given that Drew had to start from scratch to win the gold, I think he is still the flavor of the month. That storyline is interesting and I think the WWE will want to legitimize McIntyre as WWE champion.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre
